Dear Mayor Emanuel: I resign my position as principal of the #1 rated neighborhood school in Chicago

Please take a moment of your day to read this incredibly chilling letter from  Troy LaRaviere – one of Chicago’s strongest principals and now President of the CPAA. He has been fighting tooth and nail against Rahm’s crooked and destructive actions regarding education in Chicago, and is facing a very dark side of Rahm’s administration that has shown that they will stop at nothing to achieve retribution.

Even if you know nothing about Chicago’s educational (and financial, and political…) issues, this topic is extremely relevant and incredibly important especially considering the upcoming election. Troy’s story sheds a light on the power of politics in Chicago and in our nation, and he has taken full advantage of a negative situation by not hiding from it, but broadcasting it to anyone who will listen. We need more people speaking out and taking a stand to educate our city and support its people.
