state of the blog – 2 months

I tried to write this post a month ago, and then realized that everything was still changing too much for me to comment on the current state.

Since the day I decided to start a blog, I’ve changed everything like a million times. The name, the format, the font, the content… trying to find what works best for me. I get a lot of inspiration from blogs I follow, but I’m starting to realize that their blogging style isn’t necessarily mine.

What it comes down to, is that I want this blog to be a place that is 100% me (and Brian). My ideas, my projects, stuff I think is cool or funny, our adventures, our pictures, everything about us. I want to look back on this and remember every moment exactly how it happened, not how I staged it to look so that instagram would think I had a perfect life. I know this seems like a pretty obvious concept, but believe me, it’s really easy to get sucked into the idea that you have to make your life look perfect on social media. I mean, I think my life IS perfect, and I’m not going to pretend its something else so it fits everyone else’s idea of perfect.

So the state of the blog after two months is ever-changing and hopefully it’s evolving into 100% me (and Brian) and 0% everyone else.

Some things I want to work on….

  • More cohesive/better photos. I’m still working on the whole camera thing.
  • Different categories? I really like the “projects” category, but I’m not sure about the others. Maybe something about books/reading?
  • Mostly editing/storing/taking photos. I have a lot of drafts written that I haven’t posted because I don’t have photos for them.
  • Photos. Basically everything about photos.
